Monthly - Strength Training and Creative Yoga Sessions

Also with option of Cold Plunge and Sauna

We have been teaching these group Strength & Yoga sessions for a year now, it has been the perfect collaboration, the motivational and positive feedback that we receive after each one is just phenomenal.

Circuit training is a game changer mentally as well as physically. It will increase your metabolism, motivate you, transform your body shape, your confidence and fill you with happy endorphins. It’s also very important for bone health and to build muscle mass, especially as you get older.

Afterwards we practice yoga, which perfectly compliments the strength training. In turn it stretches out your body, offers you balance, release, a state of inner calm, inspiration as well as a lovely natural and serene dopamine high.

Everyone leaves with sparkling eyes, a beautiful smile and a new spring in their step.

Strength Training/Cardio Circuits in our fully equipped Gym

At this 45 minute session, you can expect

Muscular endurance, refers to your muscles’ ability to sustain exercise for a period of time. Training to increase muscular endurance usually involves high reps using weights or body weight.

Circuit training with cardio is a form of full-body conditioning, you will cycle through various exercises with little, to no rest between them.

Creative Flow Yoga and Yin Yoga in our fully equipped Yoga Studio

The yoga session is 60 mins.

After after a vigorous workout, yoga will encourage the body and mind to transition, as it aids recovery with deliberate relaxation of the body and mind. I will encourage you to regulate your breath so that your heart rate drops and your body can start to repair and rebuild.

Yoga poses and intense stretches, will help realign your muscle fibres so that your muscles can then recover quickly and effectively.

Venue and Grounds

We are so happy to have found the most perfect new venue for these Saturday group sessions. It offers us use of a large spacious gym, a warm yoga studio, changing rooms, as well as a sauna with a large window overlooking stunning countryside, and an invigorating cold plunge bath, both of which have amazing health benefits to the body.

Information

Please arrive promptly as we need to start on time and finish on time.

There will always be someone in the gatehouse as you arrive in your car.

Park up outside the gym and walk up to enter at the front of the gym.

There are changing rooms, lockers, tolilets and showers at the venue.

There is also a small communal changing space at the entrance of the sauna.

If opting for Cold plunge and Sauna, then please bring, swimwear, flip-flops, two towels (one to sit on and one to dry yourself), a bottle of water and some dry clean clothes to change in to.

The sauna is set to 87 degrees. Feel free to pour water on the coals for that extra hit. Also the sauna is a no phone zone.

The cold plunge is set to 7 degrees. 

Everything is taken care of on the day—just turn up and enjoy the whole experience, the wild sauna and cold plunge are highly recomended afterwards, you will feel incredible.

Inspiration

Just over 18 months ago, I personally discovered strength and circuit training, it has been a complete game changer in terms of my physical health and well-being.

Due to loss of oestrogen (caused from the menopause), and also being diagnosed with osteo-arthritis, I knew that it was paramount for me to increase my muscle mass and my bone density. Then by chance, I was introduced to Kaisa Larkas, who is an excellent Personal Trainer, (and at the top of her field), she has guided me and motivated me so much. Each week she takes me through my paces in her garage gym and then afterwards, I then teach her yoga, which she also needed, due to her intense weekly training schedule. We were both complete opposites in body types and mindset, but soon we mutually started to realise that we had found the most perfect partnership combo in each others skillsets.

Consequently I have regained muscle mass which has raised my fitness levels immensely. These workouts, combined with an anti-inflammatory diet, have given me a stronger immune system and balanced metabolism keeping my blood sugar low. My body composition is also better, I have more toned muscle definition, less fat and zero puffiness around my joints anymore. On top of that I have a much stronger body with stronger bones, and I am also so much more confident.

Who’d have thought that interval training would offer me a twist of metabolic magic in my midlife, I absolutely love these workouts, they will be part of my health regime for the rest of my life now, and I know that I will continue to see the benefits into my 60s, 70s and 80s.

About Kaisa

Kaisa Larkas is a mum of four and personal trainer with over 25 years of experience in the industry. Originally from Finland she now lives in Olney, Buckinghamshire.

For her, training is about getting stronger both mentally and physically and she loves showing her clients what they’re capable of. Kaisa loves pushing everyone to their limits, always ensuring correct form and technique.

It is very important for Kaisa that her clients feel comfortable around her and trust her in planning the sessions and seeing what you can achieve. Most people are much fitter, stronger and more capable than they realise, and it is her calling to prove this to every single client.
